Points Of Control
The footpegs and handlebars are the points of contact in which we control our motorcycles. You can add the seat in this category as well, but that will be another subject later.
If you are working on your TW200’s ergonomics, the handlebars and bar risers work in conjunction with one another and we briefly touched on bar risers in the handlebar story, thus we are diving deeper into the Bar Riser subject.
Hopefully, you’ve read both our footpeg and handlebar posts, especially the handlebar story for this Bar Riser post.
BAR RISERERS IN REALITY LAND!
The brands I see the most, making bar risers to fit the factory Yamaha TW200’s fixed 7/8″ bar mounting position are the following;
Pro Taper, TUSK, ROX, WRP, and ZETA. There are other brands and or makers of handlebar risers, but I will let you make your own judgment call as to what you choose to put between your handlebars and your motorcycle.

ZETA RACING BAR RISERS
ZETA Racing – While I can not find their “about” page, I’ve known about the ZETA Racing brand for quite some time with other motorcycle endeavors. They are from Japan and make a lot of products for the Japanese dirt bike market. When I had the Pro Taper SE (7/8″) bars on the TW200, I used ZETA Racing’s 7/8″Bar Risers.
• BUY: ZETA 7/8″ HANDLEBAR 30MM RISERS ZE53-0130
• BUY: ZETA 1-1/8″ HANDLEBAR 30MM RISERS ZE53-0230
I’ve used both the ZETA and Pro Taper products in my TW200 Journey of dialing in the ergonomics that best fits me. Am I 100% satisfied?
Yes with the performance of the products.
No with the complete fit of my riding position on the bike.
I know I want just a scratch more lift on the bars and that will require a scratch more research on the ZETA page to see if they have what I need. Then it will require another scratch of dead presidents. Currently, my ink is on backorder to print more, and about that tree in the backyard…

TRIPLE CLAMP MUCH?
NADA ZILCH FOR DA TDUB!
For us Yamaha TW200 owners looking to start with the triple clamp, we do not have companies like; BRP, Ride Eng., Applied, RG3, Neken, RallyX or XTrig making a triple clamp for the oldest – longest-running production dual-sport motorcycle! Yes, the Yamaha TW200, in production since 1987, and has now outlived the Kawasaki KLR 650, also started in 1987, but the KLR’s last production year was 2018. They have options, why not us!
Why would we want a triple clamp?
It’s like a clean slate to make all sorts of mounting configurations between the handlebars and the forks. The factory Yamaha TW200 triple clamp as fixed position post for 7/8th-inch handlebars.
But really though…
The TW200 is currently in production with the 2020 version already displayed on the Yamaha website! But, who is really upgrading the TW200 as such to warrant the R&D expense to prototype and manufacture a triple clamp for a motorcycle with only 6-inches of travel? A quick Google search does not show much of anything available for the TW200.
But with some serious digging, I came across Cognito Moto. Per their webpage, it states “CUSTOM TRIPLE TREE CONVERSION (ANY FORK TO ANY BIKE).” Hey! If you have the “Plata” to throw out aka the dead presidents to toss, then the folks at Incognito will take your dinero and spit out a custom triple clamp unit just for you! Cuanto cuesta? Eight hundred Dead Presidents or 800 PayPal piggy bank points!
Happy TDUBBIN in the free world and doot doodle dut dut… until next time!
