From either side of Saddleback within the Santa Ana Mountains, going out to Beeks Places is an out-and-back affair. But it is a worthwhile affair providing you have the time! Hopefully, you watched the previous video as I have some history info about Beeks Place in the description over there. I rode a little more mellow on the way back across Main Divide until I hit the downside of Maple Springs Truck Trail. The “three-way-intersection” or CrossOverPass is what I call the crossover from one ridge to the other, but the road is more of a horseshoe, but visually looks like two parallel edges. That section is here on google maps: https://goo.gl/maps/j2uAC7Srx3d8XPe66
It’s a great secondary lookout without having to take the extra time to get up to Santiago Peak. All I can really say is that this is a fun day trip, it’s right here in the SoCal backyard, so there is no excuse to get up here as much as I can when not riding out beyond the Santa Ana Mountains! It’s my closest dirt at 32-miles away, so there is a bit of time dedication to get up here! But, even at that, it’s well worth it!
