The Yamaha TW200 was introduced in 1987 and as of April 2020, the 196cc street-legal dual-sport motorcycle is still in production and still made in Japan! With 33-years of a relatively unchanged platform, the uniquely fitted fat-tired motorcycle has developed a bit of cult-like following around the world. With that, the Yamaha TW200 has also become a “blank canvas” as it has been transformed by the hands of visionary motorcycle builders.

Like all cultures, there are sub-cultures within those cultures and the same falls true with motorcycles; Adventure, Bobber, Café, Chopper, Cruiser, Cutdown, Drag Bike, Dual Sport, Enduro Bikes, Power Cruiser, Military, Motocross, Naked Bike, Rat Bike, Scrambler, Sports Bike, Streetfighter, Street Tracker, Supermoto, Touring, and Trials bikes are those “sub-cultures” within motorcycling. Of these, some are factory-offered and the others are hand-made custom-built specimens.
Below are the following TW200’s that have managed to capture my attention and get a little space in my Instagram’s “Black Ribbon” Saved items. In no particular order or category, please enjoy these custom-built TW200’s!

The following TW200 is a very special TDUB! Note the tall front wheel and the grab-handle on the rear.
This TW200 was piloted by Japanese Shinji Kazama to the North Pole:

Yamaha’s TW200-based Adventure-Spec Concept – Yamaha XTW250 RYOKU

I found this image at Vintage Yamaha Enduros. I really like this artist concept by Oberdan Bezzi of a Yamaha XT225 trimmed in DT1 styling! I can easily see this as a DT1-TW200!!!!
