When you first get your Yamaha TW200, the best thing to do is…
GO RIDE IT!!! Get to know your Yamaha TW200 in the factory stock form!
If your TW200 is “new to you” in a modified used from, still ride it as is. Get to know it for what it is. Any changes that you do to it, you want the opportunity to feel it and “feel – know” the difference in what you have done. This way you will be able to evaluate if the change or mod you’ve made has been worth while. This way you can make a recommendation to your riding buddies!
What To Do First?
Everyone naturally wants to go for the ergonomics to make the TW200 a better fit. But, if you fit the bike better, then you are already inclined to ride the bike harder and or put the bike into more technical rough terrain. So, before you do that…
SKID PLATE FIRST!
We recommend adding a skid plate to your Yamaha TW200 – FIRST PRIORITY! WHY?
The skid plate protects your engine cases. The left side houses the stater and the right side houses the oil filter and clutch. Damage to either side can be very costly! At minimum, a side case replacement is two times the cost of the skid plate! Get it and get it over with! Out of sight and out of mind, because you have a protected piece of mind!
